Along The Central Coast: Terrigal
Luckily this is our first week that we have a car, because the coast here is lined with point after point and each miniature bay/cove is another cute town, upon another cute town…Our first day in Avoca, we drove to Terrigal (roughly 3 miles north)Shaun parked in the harbor, which was circled by a walking path up stairways to clifftop outlooks. Downtown Terrigal is adjacent to the harbor, running across the street from the beach esplanade, nearly the size of downtown Santa Cruz. Four or five or six blocks full of varied restaurants, boutiques, a surf shop, cafes, one fabulous (and huge) hotel, similar to the Coronado Hotel Del, with a grand staircase and chandeliers. We stopped for a very yummy lunch on a side-street off the main downtown, at the cafe called The Cheeky 3 -- an indoor/outdoor lunch spot with comfy wooden couches, low-hanging lights and the walls lined with planter boxes. Each restaurant/cafe has a very distinct feeling with its decor and vibes. I loved Terrigal, and looking forward to going back soon!
